The Get File button is used to retrieve files from the remote computer. The button may be pressed with the mouse or by typing Cmd-G (short for Get). In either case Fetch will attempt to retrieve the selected file. If no filename is selected or the option key is held down Fetch will instead prompt the user for a filename. This can be useful if the desired file is in a different directory.
Once the retrieval has been started the user will be prompted for the name to be given to the file on the Macintosh. At this point it may be possible to set the file type or choose whether to convert a BinHex file. The progress of the retrieval will be charted by the Status panel on the right side of the window. Pressing the Cancel button will stop the transfer.
If more than one filename is selected the button will be titled Get Files, and the user will be prompted for the folder into which the files will be downloaded. The progress of the retrieval (including the name of the file currently being transferred) will by indicated in the Status panel. Multiple filenames can be selected by holding down the Command key while clicking on the names.
